The Chaine Memorial Tower is a memorial to James Chaine, a former Member of Parliament for Larne, County Antrim. It is a cylindrical stone tower lighthouse with a conical roof, situated on the west side of entrance to Larne Lough in Northern Ireland. The tower is a total of 28 metres in height.
The next time you visit Larne, try to get a photo of the Ferris Point Lighthouse on the other side.
very interesting tower
I really love this capture...very dramatic grayscale...it really accentuates the textures in the stones of the structure & on the rock beach....
it's actually a blend of black & white and sepia
Nice place and (of course) very nice shot !
Wow... quite interesting to build a memorial as an irish round tower... though that fits the period of the 19th century in general. I really like it.
it also fits because it's always been a port and this acted as an early lighthouse
