The Mourne Mountains are a granite mountain range in County Down in the south-east of Northern Ireland. It includes the highest mountains in Northern Ireland and the province of Ulster. The highest of these is Slieve Donard at 850 metres (2,790 ft). The Mournes is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has been proposed as the first national park in Northern Ireland. The name Mourne (historically spelt Morne) is derived from the name of a Gaelic clann or sept called the Múghdhorna. The Mournes stand true to the words of songwriter Percy French as the place ‘where the mountains sweep down to the sea’. They are not only one of Northern Ireland’s most scenic areas and quite simply an adventurer’s paradise.

The Mourne Wall is among the more famous features in the Mournes. It is a 35km (22 mile) dry-stone wall that crosses fifteen summits, constructed to define the boundaries of the 36 square km (8,900 acres) area of land purchased by the Belfast Water Commissioners in the late 1800s. Construction of the Mourne Wall was started in 1904 and was completed in 1922.

This abandoned house just cried out "SHOOT ME" so I could hardly resist  I mean - with the walls and the mountain and the field and the sky it would be rude not to! ;P The mountain behind is Carrick Little (I think) and about 300m ish at the peak :D

Be sure to full view the tits off this :D

This photo caught my attention as well, but maybe your signature is a bit too distracting... :P

oh for fuck sake! not YOU as well ;p

i got complaints about using the dA watermark so i made this watermark and then people complained it was too obvious....sigh  so my more recent photos have a more subtle watermark :P

That new subtle watermark is good.
Never use dA watermark. And this one - perhaps it's the color, the font, the size of the letters... When you look at the photo you kinda keep looking at the signature. Should definitely be more subtle. :)

yeah i realised it was too much. but i wanted it to stand out back then so it's hard for thieves to cover it up but then i realised i was being paranoid - i mean, who would want to steal my shit!? i had an idea to change the colour of the watermark with each new set of photos - but realised i would run out of colours and this would become a headache! :D

Hahahah! :lmao:
Well, yeah, there are art thieves. I used to think no one would steal my shit either, but some people did. Well, you can't really fight it. If they're gonna steal it they're gonna find a way regardless of the signature. I upload photos with smaller resolution. At least they can't really profit from those, huh... At least I hope so. =P

that's good thinking! never thought of smaller res - but then that would take up even MORE of my time! i first started really using dA as a back up for my photos but then i got into the whole social side of it too!

Beautiful scene...I like that the colors are almost in sync with each other; the building, hills and wall...love the different textural elements! Very nice!

You're welcome...and good grief, what because its not photo-shopped or in HDR whatever...that's typical of some groups they can't tell a decent photo if it bit them in the arse!!

A great capture of the old abandoned barn, there are hundreds of these type of barns up in the yorkshire dales near where I live. I am sure its some kind of status symbol between farmers to have abandonned buildings he he

yeah the walls are pretty cool although i suspect they out-date the house which looks new beside them. probably the rough edges of the walls adding age in my mind :D
